Our groups run several times a week and at various times, these group do not need a referral from Social Work. We only require a confirmation of your diagnosis and for you to complete the Referral Form at the bottom of this page.
The groups offer people with a diagnosis to come along and meet with others, we believe maintaining social skills and wellbeing are important to you.
We promote the groups to be led by yourself, sharing stories, hobbies, interests, catching up with old friends or meeting with new friends, we often find our friends are a good support for each other.
We can support you to link in with other community led groups which may be of an interest to you and if you wish to access other services or information you feel would help or be beneficial for you, we can support through the process.
We also have groups for people with dementia and their carers or family member to come along, offering respite time for you both.
We understand the stresses that can be caused by looking after someone with a diagnosis of Dementia, the group can offer the support, spending time away from the everyday living and taking time out to chat with others of shared experience or on a one to one with our Support Workers.
We can offer support for you with Wellbeing and Keeping well, linking you to other services, maintaining the support that is right for at the right time. We at Joint Dementia Initiative from staff and members of the club take pride in offering a warm welcome.
